She noticed how content the Sage was and asked, "You seem so content. What's the secret?" "No secret," replied the Sage. "Just remember, all given to you comes as a gift. The moment you treat anything otherwise, you diminish the joy of enjoying it. The moment you recognize it's a gift, you enhance the joy of enjoying it."

Bees feed on the nectar of flowers;
they do not cling to the blossoms.

*Tarthang Tulku. Gesture of Balance.

Reflect on the above words of the Sage and Tarthang Tulku. What does it say to you? When are you most content? Most joyful? How might you nurture gratitude? Contentment? Joy?

Think of one thing you are blessed with but have never spoken gratitude for; holding its image in mind, quietly, audibly say, "Thank you." Recall a person in your life, past or present, and do the same. Visualize the person and say, "Thank you, I'm glad you are (were) in my life."
